Mae Stecker Park
The crack of a bat and the roar of a crowd
are some of the many sounds of Summer
you’ll hear almost any day or night of the
week at Mae Stecker Park. Opened in 1974,
this 14-acre parcel was named in memory of
a former Shelby Township Clerk. The park is
located at 8600 Twenty Four Mile Road, on
the south side, east of Van Dyke.
Mae Stecker Park’s playscape was erected
in 1997 with financial assistance from the
Shelby Township Fraternal Order of Police.
The tennis courts, and sand volleyball pits
make this park popular for all ages.
The park’s features include a small indoor
pavilion with modern restrooms and meeting
room, 3 lighted softball diamonds with electronic
scoreboards, basketball courts, 1.5 mile hiking
trail, picnic tables, tot lot & Shelby FOP
playscape, sand volleyball pits, tennis courts,
and a picnic shelter.
